Glen Tong
Glen Tong has had ideas swimming in his head all of his life. Ideas to do with art. But it was only when he was in his 40's, when he decided to make art a career that those ideas began to manifest. His work is quite versatile and varies from the figurative, voluptuous forms in quirky poses rendered in charcoal (his first love) to the abstract – mixed media work with a subtle Asian influence.

His love of Japanese culture, in particular, has had a considerable influence on his work with the emphasis being on minimalism, clean lines, pure color and form. The square is a significant component in his work. South African born, of Chinese descent, he ran a clothing business for many years with his partner at the time, designer Catherine Moore. They have two daughters, Aimee-Li and Caitlin-Mae.
