Mary Louise Bicket   
Mary majored in sculpture at the University of Cape Town in 1991. She also did a Textile Art course in 2007 and spent a year studying life drawing in Kalk Bay, Cape Town.Her past experience in the art field includes running a gallery, being an agent to artists (Robert Slingsby, Gail van Lingen, David Riding, Paul Du Toit, Catherine Christie etc) and selling work directly from their studios. She also organised group exhibitions to promote their work as well as her own, to raise money for local charities. (Her business was called the Cape Art Route)

She has been an artist since the 1990's and most of her work has been commissions consisting of large scale contemporary family portraits and figurative landscapes. She has held a few very successful art exhibitions and has made a living as a muralist.

During the 1980's she held a number of workshops at CAP (Community Arts Project) in Cape Town which produced protest art for rallies and marches against Apartheid in South Africa.
